Investigative Reporter Steve Miller has written a book about the Imperial Avenue murders. Nobody’s Women, The Crimes and Victims of Anthony Sowell, the Cleveland Serial Killer offers a detailed investigation of the serial murders.
There is previously undisclosed information in the book, including an interview with Sowell’s first rape victim. That case put Sowell away for 15 years.
Miller also recounts conversations he had with Sowell’s brother Thomas, other members of his family, and his high school girlfriend.
Anthony Sowell’s lawyers are trying to get the conviction overturned and hope for a new trial. They recently released reports from two psychologists who claim as a child, Sowell suffered years of abuse by women. They don’t think the jury was given a full accounting of Sowell’s troubled past.
The house in and around which the bodies of Sowell’s 11 victims were found has since been razed. There are plans to turn the plot into a memorial.
